Thanksgiving Recipes
The holidays are coming, and the Element team is gearing up to make all of our favorite family recipes!
Everyone has their favorite Thanksgiving recipe, and we’ve gathered up the office’s recipes to give our menu inspiration. It was a bit of a difficult task, but we’ve found some stand-in recipes for those team members who pleaded ‘family secrets,’ but it seems as if our team has a soft spot for the sides!
Kammie’s Favorite Green Bean Casserole
- 2.8 oz. can French-fried onion rings
- 10.5 oz. can Cream of Mushroom Soup
- 3 cups Chicken Broth
- 2 cups Sliced Green Beans
- ½ cup Sliced Fresh Mushrooms
- ½ cup Diced Onions
- 1/3 stick Butter
- 1 cup Grated Cheddar Cheese
- Dash Salt, Black Pepper, Garlic Powder
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350° F. Melt the butter in a large skillet. Sauté the onions and mushrooms in the butter. Boil green beans in chicken broth for 10 minutes and drain. Add the green beans, mushroom soup, onion rings, and seasonings to taste. Stir well. Pour into a greased 1.5-quart baking dish. Bake for 20 minutes, then top the casserole with the Cheddar and bake for 10 minutes longer, or until the casserole is hot and cheese is melted.
Ryan’s Favorite Mashed Potatoes
I don’t think there’s a mashed potato recipe I don’t like.
Latoya's Favorite Carrot Cake
My favorite Thanksgiving recipe is carrot cake. I made this years ago when my Grandmother was living, and it was a BIG hit! She even enjoyed it, and it was all gone before the night was over. If you’ve never made anything homemade, try this!

Thomas’s Favorite Macaroni and Cheese
- Elbow Noodles
- ALL Types of great cheese (NYC Sharp Cheddar is my favorite). Wisconsin has some good cheeses!
- Egg
- Milk
- Pepper and a little salt
- Butter – and a lot of butter
Directions
Preheat oven to 425° F. Boil Noodles. Mix 1 egg, 1/3 cup of milk, and pepper. Coat glass baking pan with butter. Cover bottom of the pan with egg, milk, and pepper mixture, but don’t use it all—alternate layers of noodles with cheese. You want your last layer to be cheese. Take another 1/3 of your milk mixture and balance it with egg, milk, and pepper mix – pour evenly through the pan of macaroni and cheese. Slice pats of butter and lay on the top. Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes until the top layer is crisp. THEN EAT!
Erik’s Favorite Holiday Meatballs
This is my favorite holiday dish because everyone loves it, and it takes virtually zero effort to make.
- Frozen Meatballs
- 14 oz. Whole Cranberry Sauce
- 12 oz. Cocktail Sauce
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- ¾ cup Water
Directions
Rub oil inside of the slow cooker. Add meatballs to slow cooker. Mix all other ingredients in a bowl and stir. Pour contents of the bowl over meatballs. Cook on low for 4-6 hours.
Jordyn’s Favorite Thanksgiving Sliders
My favorite Thanksgiving recipe is turkey, mayo, cranberry, and stuffing sliders with Hawaiian rolls. Turkey is not my favorite thing, so I have to doctor it up a little to make it enjoyable and less dry. It’s an excellent way to eat up thanksgiving leftovers too.
Kevin’s Favorite Stuffing
This is a special recipe because it reminds me of Thanksgiving dinners with my family, and I helped my mom on Thanksgiving mornings with the toasting & tearing of the bread. It was a time where we visited while cooking before the Thanksgiving chaos started (we usually hosted 20 people for dinner each year).
- 2-3 loaves Bread, toasted & torn into small pieces
- 1 stick Butter
- 2 cups Chicken Broth
- 1 large Onion
- 2 large cans Mushrooms
- Ground Cumin
- Salt & Pepper
Directions
Toast & tear bread, place in a large mixing bowl or a pan. Melt the butter in a saucepan, then chop the onion and sauté in the butter. Add butter/onion, chicken broth, mushrooms to the bread, mix thoroughly. Sprinkle ground cumin, salt & pepper over bowl or pan, then mix again. Place in 1-2 large deep-dish pans, bake in the oven for 45-60 minutes (until top layer is browned).
Britt’s Cranberry Stuffing
My grandma’s stuffing is my favorite Thanksgiving recipe!
- 1 cup Butter
- 3 stalks Celery
- ¾ cup Chopped Onion
- 9 cups Bread Cubes
- ½ cup Cranberries
- 2 tbs Chopped Sage
- 1 tbs Chopped Thyme
- 1 ½ tsp Salt
- ½ tsp Pepper
Directions
Cook celery and onion in butter over medium heat until onion is tender. Stir in one-third of the bread cubes. Place mixture and additional ingredients in a bowl and toss. Stuff turkey just before roasting or bake in oven at 325° F for 30 minutes.
